HMP Bronzefield
Kalyx opened HMP Bronzefield in 2004 and it is the only privately managed purpose-built prison for women in the UK. Bronzefield is a local prison, taking prisoners directly from the courts. Bronzefield holds a wide range of female offenders, including remand, sentenced and restricted status women. It also has a 12 bed Mother and Baby Unit, accommodating children up to 18 months old.
The capacity of the prison is 465 including a 12 place Mother & Baby Unit.

A family visits room is available and extended
children’s visits are held monthly.
Booking information:
Prisoners receive visit orders (VO) which they post to a visitor.
Visitors may then phone and quote a reference number to book a
visit. 01784 425690
Additional information:
Remand prisoner visits are 1 visit each day for a max of 1
hour. A convicted prisoner may have 4 visits per month.
Legal Visits: 09.15 – 12.00 & 13.00-17.00
Booking information:
Legal representatives should fax their request on company headed
paper to 01784 425691. A confirmation will be faxed back. A company
letterhead and one identity document must be brought to the
visit.

By bus: The 117 (Staines – Ashford – Feltham – Hounslow – Isleworth) or the 216 (Kingston – Hampton – Sunbury – Ashford).
By train: Ashford (Middlesex) is the nearest train station. Come out of the station and walk straight ahead to the mini roundabout. Turn right into Woodthorpe Rd and continue straight over another mini roundabout. Bronzefield can be found on your right. It is a 10 minute walk from the station.
By road: Leave the M25 at junction 13 taking
the A 30 (Staines Bypass) eastbound. At first roundabout, Crooked
Billet, take third exit (A 308) towards
Kingston. At first roundabout (Fordbridge) take third exit (B377)
towards Laleham and Knowle Green. At next roundabout take second
exit towards Knowle Green (Kingston Road). First right into
Woodthorpe Road. HMP Bronzefield in on left after passing under a
road bridge. A visitors’ car park is available.
